Day 42

August 11, 2023

There's not a lot to report today. We mostly just hung out around (and in) the pool. I'm pretty sure I spent close to 6 hours in the pool, and my fingers my never recover from being so pruney. Nor my shoulders from being so sunburney.

I genuinely HATE sunscreen of all kinds - I hate the smell, I hate the way it makes my skin feel, I hate putting it on other people. I hate it. We've tried a ton of different kinds - different brands, rub-on, spray-on, stick kind, they're all terrible. I know it's incredibly valuable, and I know that by refusing to wear it, I'm risking terrible things in my future. And I know that I'm just being a baby, and I've been on the receiving end of more than a few lectures about it, but I don't know that I'll change. I mostly avoid the sun, but it wasn't really an option on this trip, so instead I melted.

For dinner, we hit up the other half of the reason I come back home (aside from visiting family) - In-N-Out. It's delicious, fast, and fairly inexpensive, coming in squarely in the cheaper end of the food stops we've made on this trip. If they built one in Spokane, I'd probably never go home. Alright, that's not actually true, but it would be glorious.
